Dinner At The Senate In Palais Luxembourg.
Stephan Kandler, Team Leader of the French America’s Cup sail racing team and owner of both Château Tourril in the Minervois in France and Domaine des Pentelines in the Rhone Valley, extended an invitation to me from winemaker father son team Henri and Julien Cabanel from Domaine Paderc in the Languedoc, to eat dinner at the Senate Restaurant within Palais du Luxembourg in Paris. Henri Cabanel, still a winemaker in the southern Languedoc region of France, has also been a senator for the past decade.
The interior of Palais du Luxembourg is quite magnificent.
First Course.
Potage de pois cassés au cumin & huile de truffe, chips de jambon vendéen.
Split pea soup with cumin & truffle oil, Vendée ham chips.
Main Course.
Axoa de veau fermier français au piment d’espelette, fusilli tricolores, poivrons confits
Free range veal with espelette pepper, tricolor fusili pasta and candied peppers.
WIne.
The red wine from Languedoc was a semi spicy Pinot Noir/Syrah blend.
